This week in games: A Divinity: Original Sin-Board-game, rumors about a new Mass Effect, and more

It is hard to imagine all the news this week in competition with Valve’s new Half-Life game. I really don’t know why you would even try, in fact.

But have tried some unhappy developers, so we have done our due diligence and rounded up the news of the week. the hymn‘s come back from the dead, Larian, introduced himself as Divinity: Original Sin in a Board game, grinding Gear announced sequel(ish) path of exile 2 Black Friday sales kick-off a week early, and more.

This is gaming news for November 18 to 22.

Free the North

as usual, we start with the freebies. It is still a game in the week of the Epic, this time the miniature Viking-themed strategy game, Bad North. I really love the look of this one, and it is a nice lil’ spin on a real-time strategy. Next week, an all-time favorite of mine, although, the fantastic platformer Rayman Legends, is a pleasure for me to it.

Modest is also the give away is a game, but only until Sunday. Serial-cleaner, in which you have to clean up after Hotline Miami-like massacre, is free of charge, if you are looking for Humble’s newsletter.

And while these are durable giveaways, it is worth noting that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is free for the weekend, if you like to bathe in the blood of rats. Reception for this brawler seems to be less positive today than it was at release, but hey, might as well try it for yourself.

Black(ish) Friday

It is also flowering in the beginning of each fall, a week earlier than expected. The Epic Games Store, the Black Friday sale, under $10 to $20 off, Red Dead Redemption II, The Outer worlds, U-Exodus, and more. began Many great games appeared on the Epic’s storefront this year, so it is probably a browse worthwhile.

Humble sale running as well. Prices fit-epic, where applicable, but Modest in a wider range of games, as well. You cancivilization VI‘s latest expansion for 40 percent off, Planet Coaster for a 70 percent discount, and so on./p>

path of exile 2

We’re officially in the era of non-continuation. Hit a “2” at the end for branding purposes and they let us go, I think. First of all, it Overwatch 2, and their multiplayer was. Now, Grinding Gear s, path of exile 2 announced. It features a new seven-act story, the levels begin 20 years after the events of the current game, and force you to a character from the ground up. Apart from the fact that it is structured as a (very) large expansion though. The Slogan “One game, two campaigns.” Can’t get much clearer than that.

Still, as someone who is the fallen from path of exile , despite its size, it will be nice to have a clean start again.

Bury

as we celebrate Half-Life: Alyx, let’s go ahead and mourn the loss of In the valley of the gods. It is only conjecture at the moment, but it looks like Campo Santo fire watch follow-up could be dead. And that makes sense, right? While I had hoped valve bought, Campo Santo, and would be good enough alone, I have the feeling that most of the team is likely involved in the in Alyx in a certain way. Maybe not! Maybe the release is some day. And I hope so, because the first reveal trailer was great.

undead-island

you know, what’s canceled, not? Definitely, definitely is not aborted? the Dead Island 2. Sure, it was like four or five years, since we first (and last) has hands-on time with it, and it is already more than four developers and counting. But, Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratitz, repeated game industry.biz this week, “We are really confident that when it comes out it will be a kick-ass zombie game.”

We see a Half-Life continued in front of a Dead Island sequel. I never would have guessed.

Loot-box lockout

of The last received loot-box systems are quietly killed. the Rocket League, with added, a boxes-and-key-system post-release, is the exit for the benefit of the Item Shop. Psyonix detailed the new home page this week, including a strange something, that “after the next monthly update, the Premium DLC packs are no longer available for purchase.” Apparently, you will not be able to buy just the DeLorean through Steam, you have to wait for it to maaaaybe show up in the in-game Item Shop. Ugh.

player, unknown battle fields is also ditching his crate-and-key system in December 18. You still get the boxes unfortunately, the loot crates are, clinging to life—but the keys are gone. All the rest of the crates can be opened using the in-game currency. It is an imperfect solution for an imperfect system, but an improvement on the payment for it pulls at the slots, at least.

Street Fighter V done

Never, several editions of the same game, Street Fighter V set to release the third iteration in February. Subtitle, world champion Edition, Capcom is bundled basically by 2018, is Arcade Edition and all of the DLC that came after it in a big package. It is a bit cheaper as well, listed at $30—to appease, although this is unlikely, the people who bought Arcade Edition, because you will update to have to pay $25. Only a $5 discount? AH.

Original Sin 2D

you Forget to games video. Table top is all the rage, what games through the Paradox of the recent trip to the Board. And now Larian followed, with Divinity: Original Sin – The Board game. There are a lot of details on the Kickstarter page, but basically it’s a co-op adaptation, which leans heavily on story-driven events, and tactical combat. I get my fix of Gloomhaven, but…well, maybe I need two $120 Board games. Maybe.

The campaign is already funded three-fold, but there is to go a month, if you want to chip in.

Electric Air

We checked Google, the game-streaming-service stages this week and were not too impressed. But also, 2,000 words were not enough, the launch trailer, a psychedelic nightmare that culminates in the Slogan “ShoreTel the things that you think are the things.” I would like to say, it is the most irritating of choice Google has made with stages, but I’d be lying. This is very on-brand.

Oh, and hey, while we’re at it: The latest rumors from CNET show on Amazon with its own competing game-streaming service next year. Get ready for the gold rush.

Finally, people

I was pretty sure Quantic Dream’s Detroit: a man can Be was going on on the PC in August. the Heavy Rain in June, Beyond: Two Souls, in July, and that seemed enough to indicate a pattern. December 12, the date is actually, although, as announced this week. Finally, I can experience David Cage, thinly veiled robot racism is a metaphor for me. Maybe I should prepare the rewatch A. I..

national anthem? The National Anthem.

We stop on the hymn news, as it is the tradition. Turns out, according to the hymn‘s death were a bit early—and I don’t mean that BioWare abandoned this game yet. Instead, Kotaku reported that “BioWare and parent company EA is planning a major overhaul of the online shooter…Some call it ” anthem 2.0 or anthem of the Next.” When will we see it? Probably not, according to the years. But the bar is low, and the people as a No Man’s Sky-style comeback story. Keep an eye out, I think.

And stay tuned for the end of the story, where it is the news that “A new Mass Effect game is in very early development at the Edmonton office.” Good luck to the team that needs follow-up Mass Effect: Andromeda. I hope that you can do, just by the series.
