There is an automatic snow blower available, the still or should I plan on just getting a heated driveway one day?
I think about this a lot. Snow blowing takes a lot of energy… so I think that a Roomba-type solution, the bucket and dump that in a certain place. You would have to refuel, tank tracks, waterproof is a must. Then you geo-tracking do not have to close the inch, so GPS is also… need some Ping for devices that are fixed in place. Feasible, to build, Yes… cheap, no. 30 years from now… we can definitely knock this.
Heated driveway will cost more to run in just a couple of years ago, when my idea will cost for a Roomba snow shovel, to build and set up. Melting snow is EXPENSIVE. A few years back, to melt the Freakonomics guys calc ‘ ed price, a single snow storm in NYC and it would be more natural gas than the town uses in a year for each storm. So, for a certain entry, you can expect to spend a few thousand a year for a couple of ten thousand per year, as you go North.
