What is it? The MacBook Air is Apple’s more affordable line of laptops. Apple currently offers two 13-inch models.
Who is it? The MacBook Air is perfect for budget. It is also bogged down for someone who is always on the go, don’t want to be a regular-size laptop, and needs a computer that is more versatile than a iPad.
What are the specifications?
The main difference between the laptops is storage. The $1,099 model has 128 GB of flash storage, while the $1,299 model of 256 GB.
How do I connect the stuff? The MacBook Air has a built-in Wi-Fi connection to a network. It also includes built-in Bluetooth for wireless connection of a mouse or other peripheral devices. If you want to connect to an ethernet network, you will need an adapter.
The $1,099 and $1,299 models have only a few of the Thunderbolt 3 – /USB-C connectors. If you would like to connect USB devices, you need either a USB-C-to-USB adapter, such as Apple’s $19, or a USB-C-hub with USB-A ports.
How fast is it? The MacBook Air is quite capable of handling everyday tasks, such as sending and receiving E-Mail, surf the Internet and office applications. You can even use it for editing short videos or for working with JPEG files from your iPhone or point-and-shoot camera.
Macworld’s buying advice: The MacBook Air is a great affordable laptop for someone who does general-purpose work and moves a lot, like a student or a self-employed. You can not simply upgrade the storage after purchase, so you should get the model with the largest amount of memory that you can afford to buy./p>
Ready to buy a MacBook Air? Go to the Apple Store
Apple 12 inch laptop in July 2019. You may not be able to buy to that you take in Apple’s Refurbished and Clearance Store, but the inventory is long.

- $1,499 model: 1.4 GHz quad-core Intel core i5 (8. generation) processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus graphics 645 integrated graphics, two Thunderbolt 3 ports
- $1,799 model: 2.4 GHz quad-core Intel core i5 (8. generation) processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus graphics 655 integrated graphics, four Thunderbolt 3 ports
- $1,999 model: 2.4 GHz quad-core Intel core i5 (8. generation) processor, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus graphics 655 integrated graphics, four Thunderbolt 3 ports
Apple has two 16-inch-MacBook-Pro:
- $2,399 model: 2.6 GHz 6-core Intel core i7 (9. generation) processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel UHD graphic 630, integrated graphics, 4 GB Radeon Pro 5300M discrete graphics
- $2,799 model: 2.3 GHz 8-core Intel core i7 (9. generation) processor, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel UHD graphic 630, integrated graphics, 4 GB Radeon Pro 5500M discrete graphics
The 13-inch Retina display has a native resolution of 2560×1600, and OS X offers a scaled resolution up to 1680×1050. The 16-inch Retina display has a native resolution of 3072×1920, and OS X, the highest scaled resolution on those laptops is 2048×1280. Macworld’s buying advice: For the most demanding mobile Mac user—someone whose work requires a lot of processing power—the MacBook Pro is the ticket. If you are on the search on a 13-inch model, the $1,799 MacBook Pro Retina a sweet spot for performance and price. The money separates the two 16-inch-Retina-MacBook-Pro models is a hefty chunk of change; the $2,799 MacBook Pro is the top-of-the-line Mac laptop, offering the strongest performance. If your work includes mainly the internet, and other productivity tasks, but you have to go for a MacBook Air.
Ready to buy a MacBook Pro? Go to the Apple Store
Apple has refurbished MacBook Pro models, the Renovated is available in the enterprise and Clearance Store. Refurbs offer a modest savings over new models, although the inventory for refurbs fast.
