Of motor power, the capacity, facilities and overall value, we are here to help you find the best kitchen machine on the market. Turns out, the best food processors are the most expensive food processors.

When it comes to the kitchen countertop appliances, high-quality food processor is one of the most versatile, designed to run specialized tasks in a fast in the kitchen. A high-performance kitchen can feel machine, how to save your own personal sous-chef, you on the effort and time that will work in a specific recipe.

Depending on the system, a good processor with a powerful motor can easily grind crushing of hard or soft cheese, nuts to powder, knead bread dough, dice and slice fruits and vegetables or make butter and spreads. You can even emulsions and soups with the help of a quality kitchen machine in your kitchen. As with everything, there are marked differences in the motor performance, overall durability, and, of course, the cost of a machine.

I tested seven, represent major brands and best-selling according to Amazon, Target and Walmart-food-processor-reviews. You can choose a food processor for as little as $25, or splurge big on an expensive per-model for upwards of $600. The kitchen machines I have tested the case exactly in the middle, in the $100 to $200-use enough for General home. There are also mini-models, and extra-large food processors, but these are all average in size-between 10 – and 14-cup capacities.

How I tested each food processor

While food processors can perform many different tasks that I chose, the testing machine shown, the main functions of a kitchen. Most of the people use this kitchen to mix devices, chopping, pureeing, and crushing.

narrowed down to these important functions, I chose hummus, pico de gallo, almond butter, and parmesan cheese to shred for the test kitchen tasks. The recipes are a blend, mix, chop, crush and puree offer to give me a feel for the performance of each model.

As we food-processors to the test

Hummus is a good indicator of how powerful the food processor motor is and thus, how well the appliance can mix ingredients together in a smooth bowl. Pico showed how easy it is evenly chopped dish from the ingredients in different textures and hardnesses.

almond butter allows me to test the food-processor is the ability to puree a bit of a hard almonds in nut-butter consistency. It also allowed me to run the processor for a longer period of time, to see if it is overheating or noise and vibration complaints. I have almonds 16 ounces in each test.

A crushing test calls for a nice big block of parmesan cheese, one of the hardest cheeses. These tests the retaining flange performance as well as the usability of the mouth, the width and the kitchen machine food pusher.

I tried my hand at each of these in each of these food processors. Each recipe was repeated twice in each machine with the same ingredients in the same quantities across all brands. Here is how it shook, and my recommendation for the best three food processors in the year 2020.

It is not nice (even a little), but this $180 German kitchen machine from Braun Tribute Collection had to b the best results by far, when it came to Credit and hack. The hummus from the brown to the processor, the friction was the easiest of all that I made in my Tests. Pico de gallo pulsed hacked in brown FP3020 uniformly and finely, without to much juice to the bowl.

The 12-cup bowl is large enough for families and with 15 speeds, you will have a lot of control over your processing. The ability to fine-tune the speed came in handy when I grated a hard block of parmesan cheese. On high, it was uncontrollable in most food processors, but with the speed of, say, a 6 or 8 out of 15 in brown, I was able to consolidate the cheese and direct it better to the feeder while it is still a good anti-corrosion.

you will also be helping seven plants get to make a home chef. The plants are perfectly knead for cutting vegetables, dough, chopping, beating, juicing, and mixing. $180 is not put on the upper end of our price range, but the Amazon price at the time of this posting, to device it for a reasonable $164-too shabby for a kitchen that helps in all types of cooking and food prep.

We tested several Cuisinart models, and this wins for its balance of performance, value and features. The $130 price (currently $108 on Amazon) make it a price middle-class values-processor performed well in our tests.

Hummus with the Cuisinart FP-11SV was smooth and well mixed. Four pulses worked to chop up my pico de gallo ingredients well, and although always almonds consistency took in a butter-significantly longer in this model (about 10 minutes on average, compared to other models), the result was a smooth and well-blended.

shred the cheese was a bit difficult, since the mouth is a slide of this processor food small in comparison to other models. I had to cut my wedge of parmesan to fit a little right to be in the gutter. However, you get thought-out extras, such as a CD with two shredding size options (fine or medium) and suction cups on the underside of the processors, to help him, you remain stable on your worktop.

KitchenAid is a classic brand, and during his stand-Mixer lover, I can’t options the same for the companies of the food processor say. This 11-cup Kitchenaid food processor model worked well, but it was not the best performer in the mix and chop. However, you get a lot of plants, and it is a good food processor for shredding and slicing because it comes with multiple discs for various shred and slice sizes.

Hummus in this model, a smooth, well-blended consistency was still taste. Five pulses did the trick as a food chopper for my pico de gallo vegetables and almond butter was good, but the machine has the heat up in the 18 minutes that it took to process the almonds into nut butter, and left me with questions about the engine. The KitchenAid model has an automatic shut-off to prevent motor burnout, but the heat made still me nervous.

the crushing and cutting is where the KitchenAid stand mixer really shines. There is a reversible shredding disc-option and an external adjustable slicing disc that corresponds with a slider on the front of the base, so you can really certain disc get sizes.

It is also included a nice storage bag in the package, so that you don’t end up throwing all those leaves in your bowl, if it is not in use. It has a classic style, and like any good KitchenAid appliance, it comes in several versions. The price varies depending on which surface you choose. The silver model I tested has a suggested retail price of $250, but is currently on sale at Amazon for $199.

Other food processors tested

recommended in addition to the three above, we tested four other food processors in the $100-$200 range.

worth considering, but not as good as the top picks above:

  • Hamilton Beach professional-Dicing kitchen machine: I was impressed by the design of this kitchen machine, but it was not the winner in terms of performance, and I found the Buttons and volume is a little disturbing. At $200, which I don’t recommend it over more powerful models.
  • Cuisinart DFP-14BKSY Custom 14-Cup Food Processor This Cuisinart model has not performed well enough, but you’ll only get a speed option and only one size shredding disc. The food processors recommended, the above-mentioned offer more for your money.

recommended:

  • Ninja Smart Screen Mixer and processor: This kit comes with a mixing bowl, processing bowl, and a travel mug. With a smaller (five cups) Cup capacity, inconsistent, and poorly functioning results. The Ninja Smart Screen is a unit I would avoid it if your priority is the processing of foods.
  • Oster Designed for life 14-Cup Food Processor: This food processor is simply not well run. Hummus was chickpeas several unchopped in it, and the gusty air flow from the front of the machine was enough to blow items on my countertop. A food processor I would avoid.

What is mean to look for when buying a kitchen machine

choosing the best food processor for you, taking into account all the features that you need for your favorite recipes and common home chef kitchen tasks.

table of contents

food processors come in many different sizes and quantities. The size of the food-processor is based on the size of the work bowl. I tested models in the range of 11 to 14 cups of capacity, but you can get food processors with mini-bowl and mini-chopper options, and as small as three cups of For a household with two or more people, I would at least an eight-cup recommend, model and if you have room for storage, spring for a big food processor, just in case.

speeds

Most of the recipes using food processors, specify, mix or chop in either a high or low speed, and for this reason, you want a processor with at least two speeds and a powerful motor. The most common configuration is a low, high and pulse option. There are some food processors that only with a speed, but this is extremely limited when it comes to control of your meals look like, in a food processor, the at least a range of speeds.

My top kitchen machine pick, brown FP3020 has 15 single speeds on a dial. This is much more than most people will ever need, but also the ability to really zero -, and adds a certain speed, the option for precision.

attachments

While your food processor is in the first line, two spinning blades, there are a variety of other plants, you can expand your processor capabilities. Some come with multiple attachments, such as discs beat to grinding, crushing and chopping, cutting, kneading bread dough, cream and installations for the crushing of nuts, juicing fruits or vegetables dice. To check if you know the tasks you do most often, to be sure, that the processor contains the correct facilities. Some food processor models, such as the brown, come with a lot of these plants, while others need to be purchased separately, so that, depending on the food, processing requirements, this may be something to consider. Remember, attachments should not be hard to clean, and you should definitely check out if you can go in the dishwasher.

materials

also, the materials from which the kitchen machine made may want to. If you plan to use it often, and perhaps not the most careful cook in the kitchen, consider a solid stainless steel kitchen machine with a plastic base that may be less expensive, but more prone to breakage. Most food processor bowls are clean from a hard plastic, lightweight and dishwasher-but some are more stable than others. If you have the opportunity to touch and hold the kitchen machine, make sure that the plastic shell and the cover are robust enough to handle around knocked on the door, without breaking.
