T-Mobile will close Sprint merger, after the two-year-battle – CNET

It is some time, but T-Mobile is finally ready to close the Sprint deal.

Two years after the a $announced 26.5 billion merger with Sprint, T-Mobile is willing to work on the Integration of the two companies. On Wednesday, the carrier announced that it closed the deal to begin with, the combination of the third and fourth largest U.S. wireless provider.

Both companies claim the merger will let them better compete with the industry giants Verizon and AT&T. The is to sell T-Mobile Sprint Boost prepaid brand and range in the bowl, which will occur on the market as a new fourth carrier. The court, headed by Charlie Ergen, has years spent and billions of dollars to accumulate their own wireless spectrum, and was previously in the framework of a period of time, the use of the Federal Communications Commission, some of its spectrum treasure trove to that of March of this year, or risk losing it.

As part of the announcement, the Sievert takes over as head of T-Mobile a month early, to replace John Legere, the contact planned so far, aside on 1. May. Legere will remain with the company as a member of the T-Mobile Board of Directors at the conclusion of his term of office, which ends in June.
