Sony firmware update adds AirPlay 2 and Homekit to some of the 2018 and 2019 TV models
Back in January at CES, a number of TV manufacturers announced plans to support your intention, HomeKit, AirPlay 2 on some of their current and upcoming TV. Most of the announced products are now either been sent, or had the firmware updates add the necessary support, but Sony is a little slower than the LG, Vizio, or Samsung.
On Tuesday, Sony rolling out firmware updates for a number of TV lines, the with Android TV, an Upgrade to Android 9 Pie. is The update adds some new features, including Dolby Atmos support, and, of course, HomeKit, AirPlay 2 support.
you can download the firmware update for the XBR Z9F and XBR A9F models from 2018 onwards, as well as the XBR Z9G, XBR A9G, X950G, and X850G models from 2019.
The update is available in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Press the the help-button on your remote and select “System software update”. These firmware updates usually roll out in phases, so that, if you don’t see it immediately, it should show up for you within a couple of days.
