Porsche Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker’s space ship channels Taycan, 911 – Roadshow

Porsche Tri - Wing-S-91x Pegasus Starfighter

It is not an easy task to design a vehicle for a beloved Film series like Star Wars. Fortunately, Porsche has overcome the challenge with the grace, the partnership with Lucasfilm for a space ship featured in Star Wars: the rise of The Skywalker.

Porsche first teased this joint-venture project in October, but the German car manufacturer has finally revealed the final craft is revealed in all its glory. It is called ” Tri-Wing-S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, and to translate, even if it might not have worked immediately apparent, Porsche’s mighty hard to some of the key styling points of the road cars to a galaxy far, far away.

said From the front, Porsche’s Vice President of Style, Michael Mauer, the arrangement of the cabin, and the shape mimics the Porsche 911. In particular, the cockpit is the flyline to the turbines, there are basic style lines, together with the 911 and also the Taycan electric-sedan.

The 911 connection is kind of loose, but I definitely see a lot of Taycan in the front. Porsche said, the nose is reminiscent of the air intakes, the drips on the Taycan’s headlights. This starfighter is the daytime running lights the headlights will also pack the German brand’s typical four-point. Again, many of Taycan connections.

Another 911 influence is obvious in the butt.

As you can your eyes of the view of R2D2 riding shotgun (behind a decidedly McLaren F1-as the three-in-a-vee-cockpit), the rear where I believe that the Porsche 911 parallels. Here is where the fins and the third brake light will give a 911-like motif. The company said that the entire look was inspired by the sports car. At the lower part of the starship at the rear, Porsche-typical rear lights bar is also available.

The German car manufacturer has not shown a clear view to the interior, but the low Seating position is meant harken back to the 918 Spyder.  Each of the essential instruments are also aligned with the pilot axis-another Porsche-typical design feature. Overall, the design team worked to ensure that Star-Wars-DNA was present, but the Porsche held posts, the proportions on the compact side, further emphasizes the ethos of agility, according to the car manufacturer.

I’ll just say, the Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus looks pretty damn cool, and both sides have a fairly bang-on-work with the creative freedoms given in this project. Porsche plans to have a 5-Meter high model of the space ship at the Los Angeles Premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where others will be able to grab a closer look at all the details.
