iPhone: Turn on the Personal Hotspot

iPhones have a built-in feature called ” Personal Hotspot, which makes it easy to use your phone mobile data connection on a different Apple. You don’t even have to turn it on. On an iPad or Mac that is signed into your iCloud account, open the Wi-Fi settings and you will find the name of your iPhone, see the Personal Hotspot section.

If you want to connect an Apple device to your phone’s hotspot feature, here’s what you need to do: 

1. You open the settings app.

2. Select Personal Hotspot from the list of options.

3. Tap on the Wi-Fi-password, a network password.

4. Rotate to Allow Others to Join.

Android phones: How to set up hotspot

The process Android phone may vary slightly based on the manufacturer. In General, here’s what you do:

1. You open the settings app.

2. Select the network & Internet, Connectivity or similar (it’s the top option in the settings app), you should.

3. Tap on Hotspot & tethering.

4. Select Mobile Hotspot.

5. The network name and password.

6. Finally, turn on the Mobile Hotspot.

Going forward, you can quickly toggle the Hotspot on or off with a shortcut in the quick settings panel.

When turning on your phone’s hotspot feature, you can see an option to change the network band of 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz. Switching to 5 GHz is a better more reliable wireless network signal from your phone will, at the expense of reducing the range.
