[Help] Installed Lutron Caseta dimmer as a 3-way with Pico. Lights turn on, but the switch is not responding (no indicator lights or functionality)

So I installed a Caseta dimmer in my dining room. This is to install my third Caseta dimmer. The first single-pole, super easy, had no problems (besides, it fits in the box, lol). The second was a 4-way in my foyer, a little more difficult, but still successful. For some reason, this is to install, stumping me. After reading through some old threads on the Lutron ‘ s forum, I have to switch on the lights by the position of the “tagged” wire like in the instructions. However, the switch itself is totally unresponsive-no lights, no visibility in the app, nothing. I made sure that the tab is on the bottom Total pressed, all of the basic Troubleshooting steps. My fear is that I ruined the switch, while brass with wire combinations and made it useless, but I wanted to ask for some Inputs before it and buying a replacement!

Some suggestions I’ve read Lutron’s forum: pigtail the hot wire connections (not sure how that change things?)

-cap “with” (hot) wire in the second box (with pico) separated from the other wires, so there is only a hot wire in the bundle. (I could have tried this? Honestly, I was with him for hours last night, between the foyer and the dining room, so that I don’t remember everything I wanted to lol)

And the only thing I can think of is that the wires on the switch itself looks pretty rough twisted and untwisted so many times…but I’m hesitant to cut and strip them in case I switch back or something.

Here is a photo of the combination, which now allows to turn on the lights.

Sincerely,

A very frustrated do-it-yourselfers
