Got a call, install a Lutron-Connect Bridge at a customer’s house, where I installed a whole house RadioRA2 system 6 years ago. Still the largest system to date that I have installed.
The house already had a couple of locations, where due to the large number of different lighting loads, there would be large unsightly banks of switches, if wired and switched to traditional.
A small 3ft section of the wall between the kitchen and the living room would have 14x switch to control all lights in the 2 rooms.
We instead 6 installed 2x-button keypads, one for each room, and a second keyboard for motorized blinds. So instead of a couple of huge, unsightly 4-gang switch, there are 2x 2-bands, each with 2 keyboards. Kitchen lights and blinds, living room lamps, and blinds.
The device count in this photo, only 56 RadioRA is switched on while the house has a total of 176 RadioRA devices.
All of these switches for large rooms, or for outdoor and landscape lighting. Almost all of the other switches were to be installed in the location of your normal place. You can use the keyboards as a simple 3-way with a smart switch to one of the hall, where there is not something else, but you have it as a keyboard button in a place where there is a keyboard. So there is little to no actual 3-way wiring in the house, I think I have a total of 3 locations, a true 3-way.
