Elon Musk allegedly victorious in the ‘pedo-type” defamation case – CNET

Elon Musk is allegedly liable for damages in a libel suit by a British cave diver.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk was not liable for damages in the defamation case, after a Buzzfeed News reporter sitting in the negotiating on Friday afternoon. The  was brought tothe case against him, the British cave diver Vernon Unsworth, musk, called the “pedo guy”, in the last year. Jurors found in favor of the billionaire, according to a reporter from The Verge.

In July 2018, musk called, Unsworth, a diver that helped rescue a young,’ football team caught up in a Thai cave, a “pedo-types” on Twitter, after the diver criticized Musk is proposed, the U-boat-rescue-plan. Unsworth sued musk for libel in September 2018, said the tweet will damage him by linking his name with paedophilia.

musk apologized for the tweet, during the first days in this week before the US district court in Los Angeles, and on Wednesday he repeated that “pedo guy” was as an insult, not a statement of fact, according to CNBC.

musk added that he was aware of his precise net worth, but is estimated that there are about 20 billion dollars.

On Wednesday, Unsworth said that he humiliated musk took the tweet literally and felt “” and “ashamed”, CNN reported. “I’m not sure how often it was repeated, but basically it was my name, to be bound by a pedophile,” Unsworth allegedly said on Wednesday. 

During closing arguments Friday, Unsworth lawyer musk called a “billionaire bully” and suggested that the Tesla CEO to pay $190 million in damages. “He dropped an atomic bomb on Vernon Unsworth,” Reuters reported the quarrel to the lawyer.

the lawyers for musk and Unsworth did not respond to requests from CNET for comment earlier in the week.

he court Friday, musk was quoted as saying, “my faith in humanity is restored.”
