The Fitbit Ionic is the fitness tracker for those who want it all. As you would expect, the ionic step, sleep, heart rate, swimming, and automatic exercise tracking; reminders to exercise; and-notifications for calls, SMS and calendar alerts.
But this fitness tracker also has features that you would expect from a smartwatch: a large color display, ability to store and play 300+ songs on the device, Pandora support, contactless payments, real-time statistics for a handful of activities, and push notifications from apps. It also provides personal coaching for the workout directly on the watch.
All, the functionality comes at a price—the Ionic has a price that puts it in the same order of magnitude as the Apple Watch and Android Wear watches. But this fitness tracker has an advantage over smartwatches: battery life. The ionic keep chugging along for up to four days, while most smartwatches take an average of a day.
To sum up, if you focus more on that the best fitness tracker you can also the support of a handful of smartwatch-like functions, then the Ionian is the device for you.
Best Fitbit for smartwatch fans
The $200 Fitbit Versa 2 not the Fitbit ionic big screen and GPS support, but it is better Fitbit if you are after a fitness tracker and smartwatch in one device.
